Galaxy UNPACKED 2020
2020 welcomed Samsung’s Galaxy 20 family of flagship smartphones. I wrote and co-designed an industry-leading RYI page, 30 pages comparing old and new Samsung devices, and copy for accompanying ad campaigns.
An industry-leading “Register your interest” page
Ahead of Samsung’s 11th February 2020 announcement of something in the Galaxy device range, I wrote and co-designed a page that generated interest and captured leads ahead of the S20 range’s release.
Working from a UX-designed wireframe supplemented by SEO-based analysis and data insights, we built a page designed to encourage users to explore the (then) existing Galaxy S and Note ranges, to drive curiosity in what the future held for Samsung’s impending release.
Samsung were effusive in their praise. They said that our page was an industry-leader in lead generation for ahead of new flagship releases, and that ours’ was the best among UK network providers.
Above the fold… and beyond
Our intent is clear: drive leads. The "Register now" CTA appears twice, whilst "Explore Galaxy series" is an anchor link to content further down the page.
"Pioneering technology. New discoveries. All thanks to Galaxy." The references to NASA missions are intentional. I wrote to inspire and excite as well as inform, and capitalise on the sense of wonder associated with space exploration. We built the page’s navigation around core features of the existing Galaxy range, which formed the basis of the page’s navigation menu.
Samsung Galaxy devices are known for their exceptional cameras, the first of product features we chose to focus on. We integrated animation and video to demonstrate key product features.
Wide, high-resolution edge-to-edge displays with tiny ‘hole-punch’ notches are a staple of the Galaxy lineup.
The S20 range included Samsung's first 5G-ready devices... something we wanted to shout about, what with our award-winning 5G network.
What do you need to support an enormous camera and 5G speeds? A huge battery. We also went into the phone's chipset, RAM, and other performance information.
