Senior Copywriter

I sat on Checkout.com’s in-house creative studio. My remit stretches across various formats on diverse platforms, supporting a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Creative and UX copywriting

  • Working with a team of extremely talented designers, we covered everything from top-level, strategic brand guidelines to bespoke event experiences, video creative for digital marketing executions to out-of-home advertising.

  • I partnered with senior stakeholders to develop our digital estate, working with UX directors to provide alternative copy proposals and UX structures to leading pages across our site; my work on our homepage saw an 20% uplift in conversion rates compared to the previous version.

  • Our internal agency model saw us pitch ideas to senior stakeholders both within our brand function and those in product-specific roles.

Brand standards

  • I established and built Checkout.com’s brand and style guidelines for use by internal and external stakeholders.

  • I acted as the point of reference for ensuring tonal consistency across all touch points.

Through-the-line advertising

  • I strategized for and produced creative copy and art direction for paid and organic social media advertising.


Copywriter

Vodafone

I sat on Studio 114, Vodafone’s in-house creative studio.

As well as the over-arching Vodafone brand, Studio 114 covers branding and marketing creative for all of Vodafone’s consumer products, including Pay monthly, Pay as you go, home broadband, and IoT (Internet of Things, our in-house smart devices). What’s more, we covered major international device launches for Apple and Samsung.

I also led copy for #KeepConnecting (Vodafone’s COVID-19 response campaign) and its subsidiary brands VOXI, and Talkmobile.

Creative and UX copywriting

  • My team managed Vodafone’s primary digital estate, including the homepage, high-profile brand pages, and new releases. The team included designers, developers, UX specialists, and of course, copywriters.

  • I led copy for VOXI and Talkmobile. I wrote all website copy and co-designed all new UX journeys. I also wrote and co-designed all ad creative for display and social channels.

Branding

  • I wrote branding and marketing copy for Vodafone UK and Vodafone’s consumer products.

  • I led messaging for #KeepConnecting, Vodafone’s COVID-19 campaign.

  • I led brand messaging for VOXI and Talkmobile. I wrote their brand guidelines, tone-of-voice documents, and any new campaign messaging matrices used by agencies and other creatives.

Marketing

  • I liaised with external agencies to ensure brand consistency in through-the-line campaigns.

  • I wrote marketing copy across digital and print (including landing pages, emails, direct mailers, SMSs, MMSs, flyers, and more) for several brands and products.

COVID-19 response

  • I managed the UX design, copy, and content of Vodafone’s COVID-19 hub.

  • I liaised with senior stakeholders and implement ad-hoc and planned amends as the pandemic developed.


Marketing Content Manager

I planned, researched, wrote, and edited Adversent’s library of world-class educational content, then sold it.

I moderated the content created by a team of creatives, including writers, designers, and videographers. I also established the business’s content creation process - from ideation, to video production.

I filmed and presented all the content I created, as well as paid social ads, and even the company video.

Content

  • I strategised, produced, executed, and distributed all written and video content - including courses, blueprints, blogs (optimised for SEO), Adversent YouTube channel videos, and scripts.

Branding

  • I established brand principles echoed across copy and visual (from the courses to their email funnels) and led the company’s rebrand, from the company’s new look-and-feel to all marketing material.

Paid and organic marketing

  • I strategised and executed all marketing content (including emails, paid social ads, and social media posts).

Video

  • I strategised and produced all video (paid and organic content, paid social ads, social media posts, and the company video).

Recruitment

  • I sourced, interviewed, and hired candidates.

  • I took charge of onboarding new recruits.
