Vodafone Smart Tech
As Vodafone moves from tel-co to tech-co, we need a place to show ooff our portfolio of “smart” devices. Cue, a long-overdue rework for the landing page where all existing products and new releases.
A new era for Vodafone, a facelift for an existing page
Smart Tech is the name Vodafone gave to its Internet of Things (IoT) devices. These include smart trackers, pet trackers, and even a kid’s watch (which we partnered with Disney for) all connected over Vodafone’s network.
Of course, these concepts are familiar for anyone interested in tech, or who work in the industry. The job of any half-decent copywriter is to explain concepts that the average consumer might be unfamiliar with.
One page, two jobs
The Smart Tech homepage
This page had to act as a place for people to learn about the internet of things and as a place to buy Vodafone’s Smart Tech devices.
People know who Vodafone are, and what we do. IoT, however, is a different story. While people might have heard of the “internet of things”, or know how it works, they likely won’t know how Vodafone fits into the picture - or that they can buy devices that use the Vodafone network to make their lives better directly from Vodafone.
The future of Smart Tech is exciting - Neo sits front and centre (a kid’s smart watch, and a collaboration between Vodafone and Disney). These are the kind of ambitious projects Vodafone’s launching as it seeks to shift from being a telecommunications company to a tech company.
New products are one manifestation of that shift. Another is raising consumer awareness of what the internet of things is, and how Vodafone Smart Tech devices are best-placed to serve the technology.
… and the rest

The V-Pet tracker (for the muddiest off-the-lead adventures), and the Vodafone Smart App, the focal point for all important Smart Tech-related information.
